I can remember a time when Target retail stores used to sell clothes that were barely wearable. Today, it seems as if major brand names have moved into Target stores and it has almost become a nice store to purchase clothes. If you are not in agreement, perhaps you have not heard that upscale designer jeans label William Rast has just recently been added to the list of brands you can find at Target.
If you’re not in the know, William Rast is a relatively new brand of designer jeans, founded in part by Justin Timberlake. This brand of jeans has been spotted on a bunch of famous folk around Hollywood. It’s safe to say they will be the most pricey denim found at just about any Target around the US, but they’re still available at Target. Now does that throw you for a loop or what?
When I was a child, I remember feeling being incredibly bored at Target and begging my mommy to buy me a $8 Casio watch. Now, I cannot say for certain what other types of watches were sold at the time, but I’m somewhat confident there were assorted kinds all more or less in the same price range. Today, you can fidn many types on sale at Target stores priced at over a hundred bucks.
One more haunting memory is my teen years. For the purpose of saving some coin, my mom would purchase me clothing from Target. While most of my friends were rocking cool, much more high-priced, skate style brands, I was wearing obscure brands like Utility and Mossimo, which were the trademarks of Target at the time. It was quite life-shattering, to say the least.
Apparently things have changed. In these modern times, shopping for clothing at Target stores is pretty much the trendiest thing you can do. What a peculiar shift.
